TOO BUSY ?????

NOPE, don't think so......but it has been awhile now hasn't it????

Friday, 9/11 and Saturday, 9/12 were soggy. It rained and rained.....Molly smuggled me into her dorm room and we stayed dry and warm while we watched movies and took naps. Saturday we got through 1/2 of the Football game before it go miserable with the rain......went back to the dorm, stayed dry and watched the rest of the game on the Web. USSMA WON in a DOUBLE OVERTIME against US COAST GUARD........YEAH USMMA comes away with the Secretaries Cup!

Molly stayed over Saturday night and we went into New York City. Rode the bus into Flushing and then caught the train into the City. We went to 'Ground Zero' the site of the World Trade Towers. Because of Molly's Military ID we were able to go into the fenced area to see the progress being made on the Memorial Park and new buildings. It was a somber place, especially since 9/11 was just 2 days earlier. We visited St. Paul's Episcopal church and a Deli. Rode the train back missing our stop and getting off at Times Square where we went last year. Good thing: -- got a turquoise leather purse and a beautiful Pashmina scarf in silver.

It was soooo good to see Molly and be with her in her world......I know that she would rather be in my world because it is HOME.

MY CONFESSION OF FAITH

LORD JESUS, BE OUR DEFENDER, PROTECTOR and GUIDE. LEAD US IN A PLAIN PATH. DO NOT LET US TRUST IN ANY OTHER NOR STRAY FROM YOUR APPOINTED WILL FOR OUR LIVES.

RAISE UP A STANDARD TO THOSE THAT WOULD ATTACK A GODLY REPUTATION. PROTECT OUR GOOD NAME. LET ALL RECOGNIZE THAT OUR CHARACTER IN YOUR CHARACTER, OUR NAME IS YOUR NAME, OUR REPUTATION IS YOURS.

I TRUST IN THE LORD GOD, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH. I AM EVER ENTWINED WITH THE CROSS OF JESUS. ......I AM CONVINCED THAT NEITHER LIFE, NOR DEATH, NOR ANY PERSON CAN SEPARATE ME FROM THE LOVE OF GOD, IN CHRIST JESUS......

YOU WHO TRY TO DEFAME MY CHARACTER.....DO NOT KNOW MY FATHER. YOU WHO TRY AND MALIGN MY INTEGRITY.....DO NOT KNOW MY FATHER. YOU WHO CALL ME A LIAR....DO NOT KNOW MY FATHER.

I WAS FORMED IN THE WOMB BY GOD, HIMSELF. HE HAS ORDERED EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. THE WORDS IN MY MOUTH ARE KNOWN BY HIM BEFORE I EVEN SPEAK. I AM HIS CHILD AND HE IS MY FATHER.

MAKE RIGHT THE INJUSTICE! DEFEND OUR GOOD NAME! ...IN YOU I LIVE AND HAVE MY VERY BEING.....

I TRUST IN THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE THAT SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR ME AND GIVES ME THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BEAR WITNESS THAT I AM HIS CHILD. HE HEARS MY EVERY THOUGHT AND PRAYER.

THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYER TODAY, DEAR FATHER.

I SCREAM THIS DECLARATION TO ALL WHO BELIEVE AND THOSE WHO DON'T. THIS IS MY CONFESSION OF FAITH TODAY.....AUG. 30, 2009

SCHOOL...SMOOTH START

We anticipated a rough crowd and glad to report that school began smoothly. With anticipated Gang influx, we tightened discipline, dress code (too much) and have a new Dean of Students who will take care of discipline. I pray that he will be more consistent and stricter.

I rearranged and twisted the start of the year. I was getting bored. Still did the same activities but in different ways. Our District has been giving us the opportunities to attend Workshops. i attended 4 this summer...in June and in August. Got some good ideas that i could use to engage students from the first day.I enjoyed the variety!

Well time to head to bed.....As I get older...that gets earlier....LOL

SUMMER ........ GONE

My computer has been down all summer and with a wonderful gift, I am back up and typing.

Spent time with my Mom in IA. She continues to gain strength and is at home. She gets around with the help of her friends...still no driving per Dr. orders. She was taken to a friends 80th Birthday in Davenport, IA and then to the Mall of American in Minneapolis.....Shopped until she dropped with her sister Lila (age 90, Mom turned 88 in Aug.). With walkers, they did 8 hours one day (a nap included). FUNNY!!!!

Molly was with me for about 5 weeks. She spent time with Emily and we enjoyed her 22nd birthday.. She returned to USMMA on July 25 to begin her Junior (2nd Class) year at the Academy. She will spend 9 months at Sea this year Nov. to June, 2010.

Emily began her 3rd year at teaching. She is teaching at the same Charter School in Denver. Her team did very well on the State Testing in March.....hard work and it paid off!!! Giles has finished his first transcript of his book and wants to have it to a agent by Dec.

I started my 39th year of teaching. Still at Carson Middle School teaching Computers.

Hope to keep up with his blog better now.....no promises....but at least I have access...

BLESSINGS.....

SPRING BREAK AND BRONCHITIS......

Spring Break -- Christine, from church and I took off and drove straight through 14 1/2 hours to Des Moines. Her Mom lives in Maringo so she was picked up after we had a good nights sleep and went to my home church on Sunday. I saw my Mom and have blogged her process through an infection / Abscess on Liver at caringbridge.org/visit/veramessick, if you would like to read about that.

Spent time with my High School buddies, Janice and Dee and also Lynne. It was a good time. I stayed at Mom's house and spent time with her every day. Weather wasn't too bad. NO snow, but some serious rain. Probably why I contracted Bronchitis.......

I don't cough, but I sure have with this one. Sinus infection actually followed. Since I have no remaining sick days (used them all up in Oct.), I have had to come to work. I sleep 40 minutes during my Plan which is in the middle of the day.....that gets me through to after school. Then home, eat, talk to Mom, Molly or Emily and then to bed by 8-8:30.

Trying to get well......Have a BLESSED EASTER and a HAPPY SPRING.......(yea for allergy season that has already started UGH)

NEWER CAR, HOME COMPUTER DOWN

My home computer has been down for a month ... can't find the time to sit on the phone for 5 hours to get it fixed.

MIRACLES! Within 1 week.....my car was totaled (Poor Baby!) and I received the book price plus $500. On Thursday, I called a man that Rodney had gottten his car from at 10:45 AM. We talked and I told him what I was looking for and by 1:35 PM he left me a message that he had found one to my liking. When I got the message at 3:45 PM, I accepted his price - which saved me $3500 off the Book price and $1500 off the dealer asking price. He took all the information and took care of the Loan and I went to get my hair cut and colored......At 5:30 PM, I was on my way to the Credit Union to sign the papers. By 6:30 PM I had a newer car......Friday to Friday .... I drove out of the parking lot with a new car payment ($150 LESS than the old one) and a great car. I moved up 5 years....2006 Volvo S80. This is a full size sedan...RUBY RED. PRAISE GOD!!!Since I had gotten my hair done, I named her Sassy Lady.....I was given that name by Doris my hair doin' lady when I changed my hair to red several years ago.

February 11th my Mom went into the hospital. You can go to http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/veramessick to read all about that... She is now recovering.
I will be driving back to Iowa on Spring Break check on her.

School: In the middle of testing for the State....UGH! Testing in the morning and then WILD HOODLUM'S in the afternoons. I have them working on a project that they can NOT talk. It is helping to settle them down....it's the hallways that are murderous!!!!!

More entries are hoped for now that I can get on this blog on another computer....
